Julia Buckingham Collaborating on Silestone Color

Julia Buckingham, Chicago interior design blogger for Material Girls, 1st Dibs dealer and founder of full-service interior design firm, Buckingham Interiors + Design, is recently featured in our August and September issue. The talented Julia pulled together tranquil turquoise home décor for our Color Wheel feature. We loved every piece of it!

We are honored to say Julia is one of the five, 2014 Silestone Trendspotter!

Julia traveled to Spain with a group of influential designers from across the nation to share their insights and inspiration to help create the next color series for Silestone by Cosentino, the world’s leading line of quartz surfacing for kitchen and bath.

The five Silestone Trendspotters include Julia Buckingham, Courtney Cachet, Kerrie Kelly, Kim Lewis, and Mark Williams. Throughout their travels, they continued to share their design inspiration and trends using Silestone’s Twitter handle @SilestoneUSA #SilestoneTrends and their Pinterest page. Below, enjoy a short clip of Julia and the Trendspotters’ trip in Spain with their design inspiration and advice.

As a Silestone Trendspotter, Julia has created a Pinterest board of her Hometown trends that will inspire her color development process. Furthermore she shares on her blogpost, trends and inspiration she encountered on her journey through Spain.

This fall, Julia is taking her design skills to new heights with a collection of furniture and accessories for Global Views! The collection will take inspiration from her world travels and utilizes rich colors, soothing neutrals, and both rustic and refined finishes for a collection that will include lighting fixtures, accessories, rugs, accent pillows, furniture and decorative tabletop pieces.

Julie described the collection, which is designed to feel like an eclectic blend vintage and contemporary influences.

“My collection [for Global Views] is inspired by all those wonderful items that I’ve found over the years, with the look and feel that it was a lifetime in the making,” explained Buckingham. “I am thrilled to be a part of the Global Views family as they are uniquely positioned to bring my collection to life.”

We are excited to see the pieces she has created and to follow Julia’s continuing influence in the world of design!
