Like our first issue 10 years ago, our Fall 2023 issue finds us back in Charlotte and the surrounding area. Join us as we visit a thoughtfully-designed home, tour a thriving dahlia farm and learn about some fantastic day trips near Charlotte. You’ll also find great fall style, must-have beauty picks and so much more. Enjoy!
What a year it has been celebrating our 10th anniversary! We have had so much fun collaborating with such amazing creatives and brands. I am thrilled to feature our celebration party that our entertaining editor Tamberlyn Dobrowski organized with Chef Sam Hart. Heather Smith of Circa Interiors graciously set the tables for the dinner—they were fabulous. Laura Hughes with City Stems did the flowers, and I’ve truly never seen anything so beautiful.
Interiors
Our Interiors feature is the Charlotte home of a dear friend of mine, Kitty Bray. She hired interior designer Gray Walker and architect Greg Perry to build her family’s dream home. Every inch is thoughtful and stunning. I know you will love the feature!
Gardens
Dahlias have become one of our family’s favorite flowers. They are big and showy while also being delicate and exquisite. In this issue, we feature Lee Hemmings Carlton of Goldenrod Gardens in the North Carolina mountains. I like to call her the dahlia whisperer. She is so talented in growing, arranging and teaching about dahlias. My daughter Sydney worked for Lee, and for my 50th birthday, they flower bombed me. I have never been so happy and stunned in my life!
Be sure to check out our Insiders’ Guide. Winn Elliott shares some tips on her favorite day trips close to Charlotte, including Saluda, Blowing Rock and Belmont. And as always, we have some great beauty and style recommendations to get you ready for fall!
I remain so grateful for all our readers and supporters. I am especially thankful for my amazing team. I couldn’t do it without all of you!
Cheers to 10 more years!
