The Summer 2022 Issue is Here!

Our Summer 2022 issue features the vibrant and eclectic city of Austin. Join us as we tour two unique and beautifully-designed homes, explore distinctive places to dine and stay, discover founder and CEO Blair Farris’ favorite spots to visit…plus so much more.

As many of you know, I was raised in Austin and went to The University of Texas, so getting to feature one of my favorite cities is always a joy. Austin has changed so much over the years, continuing to evolve into a metropolitan city while still staying “weird” in a wonderful way. On our scouting trip, we stayed at the Hotel San José. It is a beautiful little boutique hotel that is so unique. Nestled on South Congress Street in the heart of Austin, it was the perfect home base for the weekend. We also recommend the Commodore Perry Estate, a historic hotel that combines Old-World elegance with a modern Texan twist.

City Guide

We walked miles and miles, sampling delectable dishes ranging from Mexican food to sushi. Check out our City Guide section for recommendations on the restaurants, shops, and other outings we enjoyed during our time in Austin.

Interiors

Austin is home to many unique and beautiful architectural styles. In this issue, we spotlight two very different homes—a reimagined spec house that has been updated with lots of color and texture and a lakefront home reminiscent of a coastal California getaway.

Food and Entertaining

We also offer a glimpse into Serana, a glamping destination for those seeking a place to reset, relax, and reconnect. Located in Paige, TX, about 45 minutes outside of Austin, Serana offers intimate, quarterly farm-to-table dinners with food and wine from local farms and ranches to celebrate the bounties of Central Texas. Local chef Myles Snider of Mother Tongue Cooking Club shares some of his favorite recipes.
