Our first issue of 2016 features the beautiful and unique city of Savannah, Georgia. One of the older cities on the East Coast, Savannah is rooted in exquisite beauty and tradition. But it also has a hip and chic side with a creative electricity that can be felt throughout the city, with boutiques, restaurants and galleries constantly popping up.
Food + Entertaining
Spring has sprung in many parts of the country, and I for one am so ready for it. My office window overlooks an allée of cherry trees, and I can’t wait for the buds to open up into their full glory. While this issue focuses on the beautiful Southern city of Savannah, GA, it also celebrates spring. Our entertaining editor, Tamberlyn Dobrowski, shares a delicious spring dinner with us. I was lucky enough to get to sample the lemon-blueberry cake on the cover, and ooh la la—it is amazing!
Beauty + Hair
Also in this issue, Lesley Downey shares some of her favorite beauty finds for the season, and Tammy Dalton shows us how to create a great-looking, five-minute updo.
Interiors
Cathy Austin, Peachy’s interiors editor, has pulled together a fascinating article on Joel and Erika Snayd and their interior architectural firm, Rethink Design Studio. Their interiors, which are elegant, imaginative, and chic, make them a leader in the Savannah design community. Check out two gorgeous homes and a “rustic contemporary” restaurant that showcase Rethink’s talents.
I am very excited to let readers know that our next issue, focused on Los Angeles, will bring back our Inspire column. We’ll be seeking out wonderful philanthropies to cover, so please feel free to chime in.
One of the older cities on the East Coast, Savannah is rooted in exquisite beauty and tradition. The “precious jewels” of the city are the 22 square parks that connect the city. These open spaces—large and small—are wonderful places for locals and visitors to stop for a rest, to throw a football or to learn about the historic city. The incredible live oaks are not to be missed. But Savannah also has a hip, chic side. Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is located here and is constantly graduating artists, interior designers, photographers and more. A creative electricity can be felt throughout this vibrant city, where restaurants and galleries are constantly popping up.
Thank you so much for your continued support and readership! We have grown over 400 percent in the last year because of our wonderful readers. I hope your spring is verdant and filled with joy and laughter.
