The Holiday 2019 issue features fabulous gift ideas and chic holiday style. Entertaining editor Tamberlyn Dobrowski has pulled together the most delicious dessert party. Plus, we shine a spotlight on Daniel Gonzalez, the amazing talent behind Modelo Couture Designs. We have everything you need to help plan your holidays.
Where did fall go? I can’t believe the holidays are already upon us, but for me this brings great joy because I know that two of my chickadees will be home from college. Each year, we celebrate with two other families with a huge potluck feast. There are fried turkeys, sausage stuffing, too many sides to count, endless desserts—and of course the wine is flowing. But the most important part is the love, laughter, and memories made.
Peachy would have loved these times together because she is the one who taught me how special it is to be with family and friends. She loved to entertain and would deck her midcentury modern halls with trees, garlands, wreaths, and twinkle lights. (Usually, all of these festive decorations were in every room!) I cherish the memories of us all sitting for hours around the table sharing stories and feasting on a fabulous spread.

Artisan Spotlight
I’m thrilled to be able to feature Daniel Gonzalez in our artisan spotlight. Our family has a special event to attend this holiday season, and I just wasn’t having any luck finding the perfect dress. I met with Daniel, and with his incredible design ideas, together we have created exactly what I had envisioned. The silks are luscious and the fit perfect. I can’t wait to wear it.
Food + Entertaining
Our entertaining editor Tamberlyn Dobrowski has pulled together the most delicious dessert bar for the holidays. Luckily, I was able to sample all the treats, and I really can’t choose my favorite. I will say that I had the raspberry streusel bars with my coffee the next two days—they were to die for. The little chocolate budinos are fabulous, but almost too beautiful to eat, and the trifle melts in your mouth.
I hope that you all will have the perfect mix of parties and special time with family and friends this season. I also hope that the holidays won’t be too stressful or overwhelming. It’s fun to plan and for everything to be beautiful, but really we all just want to feel loved and make memories.
Peace, joy, and love this holiday season.
Cheers!
