Our Summer 2021 issue features the vibrant city of St. Louis. Join us as we tour a beautifully-designed Town and Country home, find the perfect hydrangea variety for every garden, and explore one of the most beautiful urban parks in America. Plan your own upscale picnic, enjoy a behind-the-scenes peek at our Capsule Collection runway event, and so much more.
I can’t believe summer is here. Peachy has had an amazing last couple of months. We launched our Capsule Collection clothing line with an outdoor runway event that filled up within 24 hours of the invitations going out. Clearly, after the last year, everyone was ready for a garden party. The weather cooperated, and we had a lovely night with tunes by DJ Trife and cocktails, ceviche, and other light bites from Calle Sol. My good friend and colleague, Jamie Banks, helped me commentate on the runway looks.
Peachy Capsule Collection
Coming out of the pandemic, we wanted to curate a collection that is very special but also completely wearable. These pieces, which can be dressed up or down, will be staples in your closet for years to come. We presented looks that can be elevated with fabulous accessories including Windy O’Connor scarves, Goorin Bros. hats, Johnny Fly sunglasses, Noelle Muñoz jewelry, and shoes from Elston. The showstopper for the night was a gorgeous silk dress that Daniel Gonzalez designed and Sydney Farris hand-painted with flowers. While it sold quickly, there will be more in the series.
Interiors
We did our best with our feature city of St. Louis, but it was a tough year to schedule and plan. Bek Mitchell-Kidd shares a beautiful home in the Town and Country neighborhood decorated by Fratt & Bush Home. The stunning design was inspired by the clients’ heritage, art collection, and a love of fresh blues and whites, resulting in a home that is beautiful for all seasons.
Gardens
In our Gardens feature, we showcase the beauty of five types of hydrangeas for your summer garden. Whatever zone you live in, there is a hydrangea for you—it’s just too hard to pick our favorite!
Food + Entertaining
Tamberlyn, our entertaining editor, lays out the perfect setting and recipes for an upscale picnic or backyard party. Try some of the recipes for delicious baked goods, festive sangria, or the Parsley and Panko-Crusted Goat Cheese Ball. For the first time, we used purple orchids en masse for the flowers. I think you will like the effect—it is easy to recreate and quite stunning.
What’s Ahead
We also are very excited to let you know that we will be hosting the uber-talented interior designer and author Janie Molster on October 5 for cocktails and a presentation at the Duke Mansion. Janie’s book House Dressing: Interiors for Colorful Living will be coming out this fall, and we are thrilled to welcome her to Charlotte. I hope you all are doing well as we continue to move toward more normal times.
Cheers!
