The Fall 2016 issue features the magnificent North Carolina Mountains. Explore beautiful mountain retreats, walk through a lovely garden, plan a fabulous “glamping” trip and much more.
The North Carolina mountains are near and dear to my heart as we live less than two hours away. During our steamy southern summers, this is a real treat as it is usually about 20 degrees cooler. Fall is an especially wonderful time of year in the mountains with crisp air and leaves changing to brilliant hues of yellow, orange and red. There are so many amazing places to visit.
Interiors + Gardens
In this issue, Bek Mitchell-Kidd writes about two beautiful homes located in Grandfather Golf & Country Club. These mountain retreats, while very different, are also similar in many ways. One is a “modern rustic” home designed by Holly Phillips with expertly fused design elements. The other, located just down the road and designed by Lee Cooney, is a nature-based home filled with statement artwork. The lovely garden featured in this issue was designed with love by landscape architect Laurie Durden for her parents’ retreat. The hydrangeas and white garden are a mix of hues and textures that are sure to please all.
Food + Entertaining
Entertaining editor Tamberlyn Dobrowski shares fabulous ideas for “glamping”, an elegant and glamorous take on traditional camping. All the recipes are delicious and the parsley dipping sauce is to die for. The “tablescape” is pretty amazing, as well!
Neiman Marcus Runway Event
As I head into the fourth year of publishing Peachy, I am continually amazed and so excited about the year ahead! A dream come true, we have also launched a partnership with our friends, Neiman Marcus, to bring you exclusive access—and our beloved “Splurge or Steal” style edits to life. My heart is always with my grandmother, Peachy, and her passion for fashion and Neiman Marcus…she would’ve been front row at one of our shows and we hope you will be too.
Cheers to another year!
With much gratitude,
