We’re calling our latest issue the “Garden Issue.” All of our features have something to do with gardens and the outdoors. Plus, we are back in Charlotte for our fifth anniversary year!
In this issue, we explore a chic modern home and garden that also serves as the setting for a delicious summer meal, wander through Laurie Durden’s stunning redesign of the Duke Mansion gardens and relax poolside at the center of a lovely landscape designed by our own Blair Farris.
Happy Summer!
I am so excited about this issue, which we have named the “Garden Issue.” All of our features have something to do with gardens and the outdoors. Plus, we are back in Charlotte for our fifth anniversary year!
Gardens + Interiors
I am thrilled about the combined interiors and entertaining feature. Hillary and Pat Rondero’s home is so chic—a fabulous place to entertain, both indoors and out. During our photo shoot, their adorable dog Margot hid under my skirt wherever I went.
Food + Entertaining
I think it was some sort of sensory therapy! Tamberlyn Dobrowski has pulled together a delicious summer meal with a fabulous, must-try dessert. It’s a fan favorite.
Gardens
Bek Mitchell-Kidd showcases Laurie Durden’s redesign of the Duke Mansion gardens which are truly stunning. I’ve known Laurie for years, and as a friend and colleague, I’m proud to say that this is one of her most beautiful collaborations.
Making myself a little vulnerable, I have featured one of my own garden designs. It was such a treat to work on this fabulous project in Charlotte’s Myers Park neighborhood. It is truly one of my favorite landscape designs of my career.
City Guide
Don’t miss the City Guide section for favorites in the Queen City. Stacee Michelle, a local stylist and fashion insider, shares a fresh look at some of her top picks. Also featured is my baWbo group, “bad ass Women business owners.” These wonderful, talented women know all of the best places in town.
Beauty + Inspiration
Rounding out our summer issue are Lesley Downey’s top beauty picks for the season as well as an inspiring article about Brookstone Schools’ community gardening efforts.
So happy it’s summer. I’m ready for some rest and relaxation and hope you are too.
Cheers!
