Our first issue of 2021 features Charlotte, with a focus on interiors. Join us as we explore a family-friendly home designed with a warm and cozy color palette, discover a beautiful lakeside home where Scandinavian design meets farmhouse style, tour the favorite rooms of several local designers and find out how each room was inspired and came together…and so much more.
Sitting at my desk I can see that the cherry trees outside of my window are about to bloom. This is one of my favorite times of the year as spring is always a time of renewal. And boy, do we need some beauty in our lives right about now! Instead of dwelling on how hard this year has been for everyone, let’s choose to look forward to all the good things to come in 2021.
Interiors
We have pulled together a fantastic issue for you showcasing many designers and businesses around Charlotte. In this issue, we focus on interiors—there are some beautiful ones we are sharing with readers. I have known Cheryl Luckett for many years and am thrilled to feature one of her projects. I love the way her use of color adds energy and liveliness to a home. We also spotlight a Scandinavian-inspired home at Lake Norman.
Food + Entertaining
Thank you to Tara Conrad for opening up her home, and specifically her loggia, for the fabulous outdoor entertaining photoshoot and feature. The Conrads’ home is truly one of my favorite spots in Charlotte, and I have enjoyed many glasses of wine on the comfy couches by the outdoor fireplace. Cindy Smith of Circa styled the tablescape with fabulous finds from the store. My daughter Sydney did the flowers, which would make her great-grandmother, Peachy, very happy. And our wonderful entertaining editor, Tamberlyn Dobrowski, pulled it all together.
Inspiration
Bek Mitchell-Kidd shares with us the struggles of families facing poverty and homelessness and how Crisis Assistance Ministry is helping. Their efforts to prevent evictions and find stable housing solutions for clients are making a difference in ensuring that families can stay together.
Style
As you know, we have collaborated with Charlotte’s own Fashion & Compassion on a Peachy line where all proceeds help women in need. I am thrilled to be part of this collaboration. Our spring line, which will launch towards the end of April, will include a new tiered skirt (I have it on in the photo at right), midi skirts, and miniskirts. The prints are bright and fun—perfect for spring and summer!
I am also excited to announce that we will be launching a Peachy capsule collection in late spring/early summer. We are working with several designers to pull together the fabulous collection, which we can’t wait to share with you.
As more people get vaccinated and things start to get back to normal, I hope that we all will be renewed by being able to see our families and friends again. I know that I have missed seeing so many people this past year.
I hope you enjoy this issue and have a wonderful spring. Cheers!
