Catawba Lands Conservancy and the Carolina Thread Trail are excited to host the first annual Pop-Up Picnic, presented to the community by Wells Fargo. This event will support and raise awareness of both organizations’ missions. The Picnic will feature live music, local craft beer and picnic baskets provided by local restaurants while highlighting our connection to local food and the importance of conservation.
Save the date for Friday, April 28, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. The picnic is open to everyone! It will take place on the Band shell island in Freedom Park, Charlotte, NC. Parking will be available at 1900 East Boulevard.
Pack your own picnic meal, purchase dinner onsite from the Mayobird food truck or pre-order one of the few remaining gourmet picnic baskets prepared by top Charlotte restaurants. To pre-order your picnic basket, visit www.cltpicnic.eventbrite.com. Basket sales will close April 23 at 11:30 p.m. All the proceeds from the picnic basket sales benefit Catawba Lands Conservancy and the Carolina Thread Trail.
Lenny Boy Brewing Co. beer and wine from Arthur’s Restaurant will be available for purchase. There will be a concert by Asheville bluegrass band The Greenliners. Additionally, REI will be leading some family activities and offering free bike tune ups – a great reason to ride your bike on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway to the event!
