Everyone ages differently. How your skin will look at any given age depends on a number of factors including genetics, stress and environmental influences. The best way to preserve youthful skin is to start early with prevention. Sunscreen should be used every day, no matter what the weather, indoors or outside. Sunscreen is the best defense against aging skin. It is also important to keep skin cleansed and hydrated. Applying antioxidants such as vitamin C will shield free radicals also known to contribute to aging skin.
As you enter your late 20’s and early 30’s, collagen and elastin production starts slowing down. Adding serums, lotions and creams containing key ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides and retinoids help facilitate cell turnover to perpetuate youthful skin. Keep your skin hydrated and remember to exfoliate regularly after your 20’s. A balanced diet, exercise and the proper amount of sleep will also help to maintain youthful skin.
