Our Peachy family gathered for a wonderful soirée to kick off the holiday season. We shared our favorite holiday appetizers and sides. Today Holly Phillips, our fabulous finds guru, shares with you one of her favorite appetizers to fix during the holidays…homemade pimento cheese toast! This is a perfect last-minute, speedy option that Holly keeps on hand at all times. You’ll have to try it this season.
Homemade Pimento Cheese Toast
Course: AppetizersIngredients
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup Duke’s Mayonnaise (you can add more for a creamier texture)
2 tablespoons diced pimento peppers
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon grated onion
3 dashes of Texas Pete hot sauce, or more to taste
Salt and pepper, to taste
Sliced French bread
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl or food processor (for a smooth texture) combine shredded cheese and mayonnaise until well blended and creamy. Add spices and mix well. Mix in hot sauce, salt and pepper to taste. Spread on sliced French bread. Bake for 3 to 4 minutes then broil for 2 minutes. Watch closely as they can burn easily. Garnish with Italian parsley or any herb on hand.
