Ingredients

  • 2 ounces bourbon

  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla syrup (see note)

  • 2–3 dashes chocolate bitters

Directions

  • Stir all ingredients with ice in a rocks glass and garnish with an expressed orange twist.

Notes

  • Cocktail from Idlewild
  • Vanilla Syrup: Combine 1 part sugar with 1 part hot water, split a vanilla bean open and leave it in the same container as your syrup. Shake well and let sit overnight. Do not strain. Option: Purchase vanilla syrup online as vanilla beans tend to be expensive.
